Short Equity Analyst

AKO Capital is looking to hire a junior Short Equity Analyst. We are seeking a highly motivated candidate who is passionate about applying forensic accounting techniques in an investment environment focused on short selling.

Your role will be focused on finding short ideas primarily based on quality of earnings indicators. You will be working in a small team of experienced forensic accounting analysts who will provide hands on training and close mentoring.

Applicants must have:

  • A consistently excellent academic record and good knowledge of accounting
  • At least three years of relevant work experience
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to solve complex problems, and make decisions based on imperfect information
  • Proven interest in the stock market
  • Good interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset
  • Legal right to work in the UK

Nice to haves include:

  • Prior experience in equity research
  • A professional accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA) and / or CFA
  • Experience in audit (internal, external, or transaction due diligence), forensic accounting, or an accounting related role
