The BAU assists the AKO’s investment team by assessing the risk of our investments from a behavioural/linguistic perspective. As such, it is an integral part of the AKO investment process. We are looking for a bright and inquisitive behavioural/language analyst with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to critically question the written and spoken word. You will be joining a small team whose expertise varies from Forensic Linguistics to Behavioural Psychology. All the relevant training will be provided on the job.


As a BAU analyst at AKO your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing company communications from a behavioural/linguistic perspective and producing written reports of your findings
  • Attending company meetings to assess company communications in a live setting
  • Researching and testing other applications of linguistic/psychological theory to the financial sector, including, but not limited to, Phonetics, Computational Linguistics, Decision Theory
  • Supporting the investment team on all matters related to behavioural/linguistic methodologies
  • Assisting colleagues with other tasks as deemed necessary


You should apply if:

  • You have a Linguistics, Cognitive Science or Psychology degree (or related discipline)
  • You enjoy reading and analysing texts
  • You have experience in reading/researching the academic literature
  • You can work independently and also collaborate with people within your team
  • You are proficient in English
  • You have the legal right to work in the UK


Nice to haves:

  • Working knowledge of Python
  • Experience with statistical analyses (e.g., regression models)
