Long term thinking
We look for long term thinking in our investments and we would expect investors to look for the same in AKO Capital. With a long investment horizon the less we trade the better; in general we believe that the fewer decisions you make the better they tend to be. We want to be investors in great companies. Nothing more.

Capital Structure
Our capital structure reflects our long-term thinking and our investors include leading university endowments, insurance companies, foundations and family offices. Most capital is in our three or five year share classes. It is our view that without this structure our returns would have been lower as it would have been harder to remain invested at the bottom of the market. We consider ourselves lucky to have such a strong and loyal group of investors.

Transparency
Transparency is central to what we do. We are open with our investors and are always happy to explain further our philosophy and business principles and any of our investment decisions. Our monthly newsletters provide full transparency into the detail of the fund’s performance, and on a quarterly basis we outline in detail our investment cases. We do not enter into side letters or accept managed accounts.

Commitment to People
We have been able to attract and retain some extremely talented individuals who are all long term thinkers. We count ourselves lucky that we do things we enjoy with people we like. We adopt a team working style and strive to create a harmonious environment. Staff turnover is low, and there is no place for office politics.
